When I was in high school in Old Lyme, CT, my parents bought a Chevy station wagon (remember those?) with a 450+ HP engine. I drove it to school during my senior year is HS, which, of course, involved several "free periods" during the day, and "we" (who shall remain nameless) used to go racing around town (look at Old Lyme on a map; "racing" meant MAYBE getting up to 50 MPH on US1).
Anyway, there is (or was) an Episcopal church on a sharp right hand corner. I was "racing" one day in the station wagon and took that corner at a speed higher than was smart and almost flipped the station wagon. I had a friend with me in the wagon. He turned white as a bleached hankerchief. It turned out that Chevy knew how to build suspension systems.
I have had a painting of that church in my home for decades, just to remind me of the stupid things that I did back then and to try and not keep doing stupid things (that hasn't really worked, but I think the idea is sound).
